Scratch Resistance
Keep the cooktop looking neat. Its scratch resistant glass can withstand 1.5x more pressure without scratching than normal glass. Samsung’s technology makes it highly scratch resistant**, so it is less likely to get marked and is easy to maintain. And its matte finish has a premium look and feel.
* Based on testing by Samsung in accordance with ASTM G133-95, compared to the Samsung model NE63B8611SS/AA with conventional glass. Results provided to and interpreted by Intertek. The test involves scratching on the cooktop with a stainless steel ball, with a 6mm diameter and made of SUS304 material, back and forth 10 times with increasing pressure (MPa), and then checking the surface with both the naked eye and a microscope to determine when a scratch is visible. ** Based on testing by Samsung in accordance with ASTM G133-95. Results provided to and interpreted by Intertek. The test involves sliding a pot weighing 3kg weight across the cooktop 100 times and by sliding sandpaper with a grit size of 1000 and weighing 1kg across the cooktop 10, 50, 100 and 1000 times.
